The Purpose

Developed with Top 20 EWS riders and the Enduro World Series in mind - The 161 features progressive geometry to descend as fast as possible, whilst reducing fatigue with a low effort climbing position. By reducing upper body stress on steep transitions, readiness and speed will increase during the timed stages.

Whilst working closely with racers to ensure it's everything they need to race at the highest level, they provided us with incredibly useful feedback; ranging from geometry to small (but important) details such as cable routing to clear race plates.

Shimano Logo
XT is the original mountain bike groupset trusted by generations of mountain bikers around the world. Whatever the trail, whatever you ride, XT is the high performance workhorse you can count on.

Having created one of the first bicycle disc brakes way back in 1972, Hayes know a thing or two about stopping. Believing that reaching a level of braking perfection requires an ongoing process that never ends, Hayes continued this quest with every brake they've developed along the way. Scoring grouptest wins and 5 star reviews, the Dominion A4 consistently impresses riders with it's masses of power that is easily modulated, meaning you can focus on the ride.

Coil too?
The frame is designed to run great either a coil or air shock.

Does it fit a water bottle?
Yes! We'd recommend up to a 500ml bottle in a side load cage

Can I set the bike up mullet? (29" Front and 27.5" Rear?)
No, we do not recommend this set up as it will make the bottom bracket too low and slacken both the head and seat angles.

Can I run Plus Size?
The 161 was not intended to run plus, but can clear a 27.5x2.8 Tyre. This will lower the bottom bracket height slightly.

Do the tyres come set-up tubeless?
Your tyres will arrive set up with inner tubes. To switch, simply remove the inner tubes and fit a tubeless valve and sealant.
