Details Engineered with Athletes
The development process of all Privateer Bikes has riders and racers at its heart to ensure each frame and bike has everything you need to race at the highest level. Athletes provide us with essential feedback; ranging from geometry to small, but important details such as cable routing to large highly-durable bearings. All these insights ensure your Privateer is honed for your full season of riding.
1 Piece Rocker Link
A 1 piece rocker link keeps alignment for long bearing life whilst increasing stiffness and strength.
3 Bearings in Main Pivot
Bearings are always offset due to chainring, so 2 bearings are used on the drive side to share the load.
External Cable Routing
Easy maintenance, plus headtube cable guides keep annoying cable rub and rattles to a minimum.
Threaded BB and ISGC-05 Mounts
With a focus on serviceablitiy, threads in the bottom bracket make the most sense.
And when every second counts, the security of a chaiguide helps you focus on the stage ahead.
Progressive Geometry
Builds confidence, enabling riders to push harder and faster. By reducing upper body stress on steep transitions, readiness and speed will increase during the timed stages.
Size-specific Rear Centres
Different chain-stay lengths tailored to each size keeps rider weight balance consistent and ideal for your height.
Suspension
All Privateer frames and bikes come as standard with the most highly adjustable rear shocks and forks from leading suspension manufacturers. The suspension units in all Privateers feature their suppliers top damping cartridges with ride tuning abilities of high and low speed compression and rebound damping adjustments allowing riders to dial in a podium-worthy ride. Rear shocks on all our bikes undergo a custom tuning process by the shock manufacturer to suit the suspension damping curves to the Privateer kinematics
Privateer bikes utilise the proven capabilities of the Horst Link suspension design. The kinematics are tuned to provide a bump-eating mid stroke, supportive end stroke and with an efficient pedalling platform. The Horst Link Design inherently has a lower anti-rise compared to most single pivot and twin-link designs which improves traction under braking.
