Privateer Bikes Rider Announcement! New faces and returning characters for 2024

Christo with his Gen 2 prototype

What an exciting year we have ahead of us! New bikes, more events, more races, but before we get too carried away lets first reveal which riders you can expect to cheer on through out the 2024 season. We've been fortunate enough to be able to support a selection of new riders for 2024, and we can't wait to show you all what they have planned.

Christo Gallagher

Christo Gallagher joins Privateer Bikes for 2024 after a successful EDR season racing, where he was supported by our sister brand, HUNT Bike Wheels. Christo returns to racing with HUNT and now adds Privateer Bikes and his prototype Gen 2 bike to his roster of sponsors. Christo will take a slightly different approach to 2024, working with just the brands and partners he chooses and racing at select U.K. and European races, where he's always one to watch and a potential podium contender. Christo will also be working on various media and video projects throughout the year and has already released 2 videos in 2024!

Harry Barrett

Canadian-based U.K. rider Harry Barrett has been secretly testing his Gen 2 Privateer Bike through the winter months, and we're stoked to finally reveal that we're supporting this extremely fast and talented rider. Harry will be back in Canada soon, where he will continue doing what we all know and love him for, riding hard all the time and producing epic edits!

Katy Curd

Back on our roster for 2024 is 4x National Champ Katy Curd! Katy has spent the past season ripping up her local trails on the Privateer E161 eMTB and her prototype Gen 2 bike. Katy has been a vital person in the testing and development of the Gen 2 platform and has earned some great results for 2023. We're expecting more fun times and racing highlights from Katy in 2024.

Fergus Ryan

Fergus Ryan is our development rider, social media master, content creator and an all-around lovely chap. For 2024 Ferg will focus on select European, U.K., U.S. and Canadian races; in fact, anyone planning to be at Sea Otter this year can head over to the Privateer/HUNT booth and say 'Hi' or catch him on track!

Joe Connell

Joe Connell returns for 2024 with plans to race the EDR series, which will be held exclusively in Europe. Joe had a rough end to last season after a crash ended his riding year earlier than he had hoped. Joe has been recovering all winter and is already out on his bike, getting back up to speed, and his race plans are starting to take shape! Joe aims to race at select European D.H. races early this season before the EDR season kicks off, but expect him to be back at U.K. races, too, and perhaps back to defend his Ard Rock 2023 title!

Kerry Wilson

Rider, dog walker and champion Gladiator! Yes, that's correct! Kerry Wilson, the winner of the first episode of the BBC Gladiators series, will continue to ride Privateer Bikes into 2024. Kerry has been spending most of the winter riding her Privateer E161, and we're hoping to catch up with her at select U.K. races through the season.
